EA Goats (a fast-growing, fully remote agency with a US-based leadership team) is looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to join our team! We are devoted to building beautiful, high-quality Shopify sites and related custom apps for our clients. Our team is tightly knit, positive, and supportive, and team members have plenty of chances to grow.

We are looking for candidates that can commit to regular full-time (35+ hours per week) or part-time (20-25 hours per week) work, in either the Eastern Standard Timezone (EST) or Pacific Standard Timezone (PST).

Successful Candidates Will Meet The Following Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in development, with at least one year working within the Shopify ecosystem specifically.

Expertise In The Following:

  • HTML/CSS
  • JavaScript
  • JavaScript libraries (eg: jQuery)
  • JSON
  • Strong knowledge of the Shopify platform as a whole
  • Expertise in Shopify theme development and customization
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques
  • Expert-level knowledge of Shopify Liquid templating language

Preferred, But Not Necessary:

  • Experience in AJAX, Ruby, Python, MySQL, or other programming languages
  • Proficiency with various Shopify JS APIs (Storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections, etc)
  • Experience with the subscription app ReCharge

Strong Candidates Will Also Meet These Requirements:

  • Able to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Great attention to detail and organized

Our leadership team will happily do our best to give you everything you need to succeed, but we will expect that you do your best to think critically, ask questions (proactively searching for answers on your own first), take notes, and show initiative every step of the way.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Developing eCommerce sites and custom themes on Shopify, bringing our designs to life in a responsive, intuitive way
  • Integrating third-party apps and, and possibly building custom microservices
  • Working with version control systems such as Gitlab
  • Handling multiple projects at the same time, sometimes on tight deadlines
  • Producing high-quality work with a strong focus on detail
  • Thoroughly QA work prior to submission
  • Documenting your work in clear, concise language that's easy to follow and understand
  • Working with the project management team and other developers to scope complex projects and custom builds
